Share Sizes & Pricing
Our weekly shares are completely customizable. We believe members should have the option to choose what they enjoy each week. We also know each household is different which is why we offer three different membership sizes.
- Cherry $280
- This could cover a bunch of kale, a pint of cherry tomatoes, a bunch of carrots, and 2 cucumbers every week for 6 months.
- Plum $380 (comes with $20 bonus credit)
- This size should cover 1/2 of salad greens, a bunch of kale, a pint of cherry tomatoes, a bunch of carrots, and 2 cucumbers for 6 months.
- Beefsteak $480 (comes with $40 bonus credit)
- This size should cover 1/2 of salad greens, a bunch of kale, a pound of heirloom tomatoes, a 1/2 pint of hot peppers, a pint of cherry tomatoes, a bunch of carrots, and 2 cucumbers for 6 months.
Membership fees are based on 6 months of ordering (i.e. May – October) but the entire season lasts for a total of 8 months. Once again, you can add additional funds whenever you would like but bonus credits are only available with your initial payment.
EBT members are welcome!
We ask members wishing to use SNAP EBT for a $50 refundable membership deposit to help us purchase seeds and other materials needed for your share. If you place at least 10 orders during the season, you will be eligible for a refund or we can roll it over into the next season. Due to federal restrictions, we are required to accept payment for no more than three weeks of CSA shares at a time. Those wishing to use SNAP EBT must pick up at Real Food Farm during business hours to reload their accounts as necessary at least once every three weeks.
PLUS: Through the Farm Alliance of Baltimore City, we are able to match SNAP EBT users $1 for $1 on their purchases! If you spend $6 in EBT a week, you will receive $12 worth of produce.
Pick Up Times & Locations
Our program is open from Late April/Early May through late December. Each week shares will be available on Wednesdays from 3-7 PM.
Pick-up locations include Real Food Farm (No Delivery Fee!), Little Gunpowder Farm in Monkton, Charles Village, Roland Springs, downtown Baltimore City.
We are pleased to be able to offer multiple optional add-on options this year.
Little Gunpowder Farm Egg Share
Civic Works Little Gunpowder Farm keeps a flock of about 130 heritage-breed laying hens. They live on pasture with a mobile coop and electric fence for protection. Being raised on pasture allows them freedom to roam, forage for seeds and insects, and interact as a flock. Additionally, their manure adds fertility to our land as we move the flock around the farm.
Our egg share requires a buy-in of $60. You can order full or half dozens each week based on our availability.
Membership does not guarantee eggs each week but we make as many available as we can! Eggs will be delivered with your customized box to your regular pickup site.
Thread Coffee Share
We are partnering with Thread Coffee again this year to offer a share of locally roasted coffee beans in addition to our produce CSA shares. Each month (May-October) members will receive a different roast of Thread Coffee, introducing you to a variety of flavors. Coffee is available in whole beans or ground and decaf is available upon request. This years share options include:
12 oz monthly: $60 (total of 6 bags)
(Thread Coffee typically retails for $14 for a 12oz bag.)
Coffee shares will be available for pick-up at the same location you select for your produce share pick-up.Interested in using your EBT to purchase a coffee share? Send your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Baltimore Orchard Project Fruit Contribution
Over the past few years, Civic Works Baltimore Orchard Project has planted hundreds of fruit trees with community planting partners throughout Baltimore to help address some of Baltimore’s biggest issues – food deserts, vacant lots, the urban heat island effect, and storm water run-off to name a few. BOP will be contributing fruit to our regular CSA availability to share their hyper-local fruit with you all! Apples, pears, peaches, plums, and wine raspberries are likely to make an appearance. No need to sign up for this specifically, it will be made available to you through your regular produce selection process.
Hillen Homestead Flower Share
This urban flower farm is entering its sixth season growing sustainable cut flowers on two City-owned lots near Clifton Park. Get ten beautiful bouquets over the course of five months and enjoy the season’s bounty with fresh flowers on your table. Pre-made bouquets featuring a garden fresh look will include varieties such as snapdragons, dahlias, celosia, sunflowers, zinnias, scabiosa, lisianthus, fresh foliage, fragrant herbs, and much more.
Registration for this add-on is directly through Hillen Homestead. Available at Charles Village pick-up only.
